Big Fat "YES!" for Seafoods

Seafood is most consumed by people of archipelagos or inhabitants in coasts. These also are being brought to places far from the shore and having them freshly packed as ready-made dishes in can. People realize then realize the importance of sea foods in maintaining a good diet. Studies have shown that these creatures are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fats that promotes good health. Here are the benefits that seafood gives us:

1) Fishes are low in fat.  The fats in fishes are high in Omega-3 fatty acids which protects our heart from cardiovascular diseases.

2) Seafoods strengthen our immune system. Studies showed that certain varieties of fishes and shellfishes have very high antioxidant E, aside from vitamins E, C, D, and A. These antioxidants boost the immune system and also lower the risk of heart disease by reducing buildup of plaque in coronary arteries.
3) Seafood's make smart and healthy kids. While they are in their mother's womb, the unborn child gets well developed because of the Omega-3 fatty acids.

4) The fatty acids in fishes can alleviate the symptoms of depression. Omega-3 fatty acids can also ease the signs of depressions in patients who do not respond to typical anti-depressant medications.


5)Fish eaters have lower risks of getting cancer. The Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish are the essential components responsible for protection against cancer. In fact, there had been reports that people who eat fish regularly have low risks of cancers of the mouth, throat, stomach, colon, rectum, pancreas, lung, breast, and prostate.
