This device is about 4 inches long and about an inch and a half wide. The size alone puts it above many of the other vaporizers on the market. Many of them are desk top models and are meant to be left at home, while others are about the size of a walkie talkie. It has a very durable aluminum frame, and a durable finish that may be compared to that of modern day cell phones. The bottom is fitted with a magnetized lid that covers you product and keeps it in place in the stainless steel oven. The top contains a mouthpiece that pops out when a button is pushed and activates the heating element.
It is recommended that you grind your tobacco (or which ever herb you choose) into fine pieces and tamping them lightly with the lid into the stainless steel oven. After you have loaded your herbs, press the mouthpiece down to activate the oven. The mouthpiece, then will pop back out and a light in the shape of a star will start to glow as the oven is heating. This star will turn green when the device is ready for use (this takes 20-30 seconds).
This device also has three different heat settings for different moisture levels. All you have to do to change it is pop the mouthpiece off and turn the dial to low, medium, or high, and put the mouthpiece back on. There is also a motion sensor on the Ploom that allows it to tell when it has been set down and is not in use. This allows the device to automatically lower the temperature.
Your friends and family may even encourage you to use this vaporizer because there is no smell left behind like those of traditional cigarettes or pipes.
